Recent reports indicate that Samsung has begun manufacturing OLED panels based on low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin film transistors for use in the iPhone 13 Pro models. In another report, it is said that the Korean company is also responsible for supplying OLED screens for some iPad models.

According to Korean media ETNews, from next year, Apple will use Samsung’s OLED (organic LED) displays instead of LCD and Mini-LED backlight on some iPads. Samsung provides the OLED display for Apple Watch and iPhone, and even the MacBook Touch Bar. The Korean giant is now expected to produce OLED panels for next year’s iPads as well.

According to the report, Apple and Samsung have agreed on issues such as production range and volume, and it seems that LG can also be one of the suppliers of OLED displays for next year’s iPads. Apple is the largest tablet maker in the world, and without a doubt, getting a display contract for iPads will be a big business win for Samsung Display.
