About Organization

International Black Sea Club (IBSC) is a non-governmental, voluntary organization which has the status of Observer in the organization “Black Sea Economic Cooperation” (BSEC) and the special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), which are given only to the organizations which have received a world recognition. IBSC is also a member of the International Union of Local Authorities (IULA) and the European Council for Small Business (ECSB). It is included in the Yearbook of the International Organizations in Brussels.

The Club is created for business cooperation strengthening and development between cities-ports of the Black Sea basin countries.

It is founded on December, 5, 1992 on 1st Assembly in Odessa. The International Black Sea Club comprised of 27 members, which are cities and municipalities from the area of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean:

Azov, Batumi, Bourgas, Constanta, Feodosiya, Galati, Ilyichevsk, Izmit, Kavala, Kherson, Mariupol, Nikolayev, Odessa, Piraeus,  Poti, Rostov-on-Don, Samsun, Sebastopol, Sukhum, Taganrog, Thessaloniki, Tiraspol, Trabzon, Trieste,  Varna, Yalta, Yuzhniy.

The purposes of the IBSC creation - a high degree of integration achievement between the Black Sea region countries, coordination of social and economic, ecological, cultural and educational development in the Black Sea region.

IBSC Objectives:

  • Participation in development, coordination, organization and performance of joint investment projects in the field of economy, ecology, tourism and culture;
  • Creation of conditions for free business, expansion of trade;
  • Problems solution of rational natural-resource potential usage and the Black and Azov Seas protection against pollution;
  • Organizational and economic, scientific and technical, commercial and cultural connections system strengthening between cities and regions of the Black Sea basin.
