THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF PAINTING AND GRAPHICS “SPOKUSA - 2007″

Creative association continues its dynamic history, and the project is one of the best in Ukraine. In September-December 2007 the 3rd International Symposium was held, the beginning of which has been held in three stages:

• in picturesque places of Abkhazia
• on the basis of Korovin’s House of Arts in Gurzuf (Crimea)
• in Ukrainian Venice – Vilkovo village, Odessa region.

About 30 artists from 12 cities of the Black Sea region took part in the work of three groups. All regions of Ukraine have been represented, and also there participated artists from Transnistria and Abkhazia. Symposium’s distinguishing feature is artists’ of different ages professional communication, and young and talented artists’ participation in the symposium.

The works of Abkhazian group resulted in the exhibition that was held on 19.10.2007 in the Central exhibition hall of the «Union of artists of Abkhazia», where there were presented Ukrainian and Abkhazian artists’ works. It has caused a deep resonance in the artistic sphere of Abkhazia.

The works, painted during symposium, will be presented on the exhibitions, the first of which is going to be held on December,14, 2007 in Nikolaev.

The 3rd International Symposium «SPOKUSA-2007» is held under Mr. Vladimir Chayka’s, mayor of Nikolaev, aegis, and also under the aegis of the International Black Sea Club.

The main project aim is realized: that is artists’ joining up, who live on the Black and Mediterranean Seas, with the further International biennale holding, that will be a remarkable event in the world art.
