Ilyichevsk
General Ilyichivsk Commercial Sea Port (49.19 N, 30.40 E) at 15 miles length from Odessa was founded in 1958. It consists of 7 cargo handling complexes. The First and Third complexes are used for loading steel products and pig iron. The Second complex is used for handling containers. The Fourth complex includes facilities for loading/discharging vegetable and tropical oils and liquid chemicals. This complex is the site of a large grain silos reloader. The Sixth complex is used for fertilizers, steel products and pig iron. The Seventh complex includes facilities for handling ferry and ro-ro vessels. The berths of the Western side of the harbor are used by fishing trawlers. The port is well equipped with shore cranes with lifting capacity of up to 45 tons. Floating cranes from 100 to 350 tons are also available in the port, as well as ferry, ro-ro and container terminals, warehouses, cold stores, concrete floor sheds.
